Caravane Desert et Montagne

… with Brahim Mohamed Elaabdouli
Friendly Fair Trade Tours

When you come on a tour with us, there will be camels in the desert or mules in the mountains to carry your things. However, it’s good to try and pack as lightly as possible, as we have to save room for the essentials like water and food.

Aside from your luggage, you must purchase travel insurance to cover your trek. In the unlikely event that you are sick, we want to be able to get you the best care possible. We require a photocopy of your travel insurance before the trip begins.

Must Bring:

  • Comfortable pair of trainers or hiking boots
  • Hat for the sun
  • Sleeping bag, warm enough for cool nights (winter temperatures in the desert can near freezing at night)
  • Loose cotton shirts with sleeves (tank tops are not appropriate in some rural areas)
  • Breathable trousers (cargo pants, with zip-off shorts, are ideal)
  • Warm sweater or fleece for the evening
  • Long thermal underwear for winter evenings
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen (buy a stronger one than you normally would, minimum SPF 20)
  • Hat (you can also buy a turban in Morocco)
  • Toiletries
  • Medical kit (bandaids, blister treatment, headache tablets, moisturiser, lip salve. prescription medicines)
  • Camera and film

Nice To Bring:

  • Sandals (there are some spots in the desert where you may be able to wear these)
  • Extra medicine for any nomads we may encounter (headache tablets and medicines for children are always appreciated)
  • A book to read
  • Games or cards to play around the campfire
  • Flashlight
